Name This Photo - Giveaway.

I need your help. I love this picture, but am at a loss for what to "name" it. Please leave a comment as to what you think the title should be ... and the person with the winning title will receive an as-yet-unknown gift by mail.

Thank you!

The Chickens are Home.

Ok, so they have been home for a while now. But this is the first time I thought to blog about it. We brought 9 out of 17 chickens to our new home. 9 of our favorites - that is. The other 8 went to a great farm in our old home town. So, One Eyed-Jack (the partially blind rooster), Snuggle Bug, Chicken Jane, Fluffy, Goldy, Silvia, Mishka, Broody, and Helen are all happy and cozy in their new coop.

Songs for Isaac.

Before Isaac finally came home to us, I would sing love songs to him ... in my home and in the car ... as loud as I could ... hoping that the feeling I put into those songs could be felt by him hundreds of miles away. Once upon a time, I would belt these songs out ... through tears and heartache ... waiting for my baby. Now, I sing these songs to him while he is in my arms ... and it feels so damn good. It serves as a reminder that the wait is over. That my baby is home. That all is as it should be ... and that life is good.

Here are a few of those songs ... Enjoy:

Ain't No Mountain High Enough
Falling In Love With You
Moment Made for Worshipping
No Woman No Cry
Mother and Child Reunion
To Zion
Can't Take My Eyes Off You
Joyful Joyful
The Christmas Song (because the Biblical Christmas story, if taken for truth or myth, is the greatest adoption story ever told)

Isaac, take my hand, take my whole life too ... for I can't help falling in love with you.

Love,
Jodi / Mommy

Something New.

Oh how I am totally in love with my new camera. I could shoot photos all day long and never get bored. This camera just makes it so easy ... all around.

So, because I am having such a great time with it ... and I am taking some photos that people have actually expressed interest in purchasing ... and I am trying to raise money for Haitian Roots through my Etsy store ... I thought I might sell some photos over there.

I have placed the following photo for sale:

I have more listings planned as well ... and am very excited about trying something new ... both with the Etsy store and with my creativity. Thanks for sharing in this new venture with me. Your encouragements and support have been so wonderful.

Love,

Jodi

P.S. I have also added some fabric and sewing supplies to the store as well ... a venture that is less creative, but still fun ... as I love handling fabrics :) Who doesn't?
