Gocco --- finally!

I received a Gocco PG-Arts screenprinting machine from my Mommy for Christmas last year ... and never used it. I was too scared. I've been reading Gocco tutorials for months and months but the whole thing seemed so overwhelming to me that I just couldn't bring myself to take the plunge --- even though I had pined for a Gocco long before I ever received one.

But finally, I was inspired to give it a go when Lisa from The Bunny Log spread the word about her Autumn Postcard Gocco Swap. Thanks Lisa.

So. last night I made over 50 of these sweet little bubble-baby-fairy postcards. And I am so happy with them. Certainly there are some things I now know that I could have done differently ... but these are sweet just as they are ... and I will get the hang of this in time. In truth, it was SO much easier to use my Gocco then I ever could have imagined. There was no reason to be so afraid of it. Lesson learned: "Just Do It"... nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I made some extras for Etsy and will post them soon for those who find these as sweet as I do. I also made some extras for me, of course ;)

Have you tried something new this week?

Love,
Jodi

I have heard so much about this Gocco screenprinting machine, I think I have to get one. Your cards look great. Is it easy to use?

these are super adorable! I can't wait to see them in person! Thanks so much for joining in! I was intimidated by my gocco too!

Thank you both. Yes, I now believe that the gocco is very easy to use ... so go for it "1/4 of an inch". I am now in love with mine ... and have even made invitations for Isaac's bday party in March!

I love my Gocco - I wish I had more time for it. I just love the handmade quirks about it. Glad you finally got to jump in. Cute cards, too!

Just popped over here from the Gocco yahoo group after seeing your message. What a lovely first print! Your story sounds exactly like mine! I was given a PG10 Super by a friend a while back...I think at the end of July. I just finally got up the nerve to try my first print 2 days ago! Like you, I was very nervous, and spent hours scouring the internet for information, tips, and techniques. I think perhaps it is the permanency that is so nerve-wracking. I mean, once you try it, that's it for the bulbs and screen whether you messed up or not. Thankfully, my first print came out pretty well! I haven't taken pics yet but will probably post to the group when I do. Thanks for sharing yours! ^_^ I love to see what others have done with their Goccos.

I don't even know what a Gocco is ~ but yes, those cards are so sweet. Good job! Now I have to go do some Gocco research. I don't need more projects - I don't!!
