Playing With Layers : On Picnik.

Picnik.com just keeps getting better and better. It is an online "photoshop" ... and can be used for free ... in its most basic form. To get maximum benefit, one only needs to pay $19.95 a year (I do). Lately, I have been using it to try out some photo layering and am having so much fun with it! There are plenty of free textures out there (for your layering pleasure) as well as a Picnik group on Flickr where great advice is abundantly shared.

I have uploaded a bunch of textures ... and am just itching to create some digital fine art prints for home ... and for my shop. My fave so far is the one shown above. I have a thing for birds, so they may become a theme of mine. I also have a new thing for silhouettes ... so expect some of those as well.

Anyway --- just thought I'd share some of that info with all you other photography lovers. ENJOY!

Love,
Jodi

P.S. I am still adding to my Disney photos and my Scavenger Hunt photos. Many new ones added this weekend. 2 of them even won some "virtual awards" from other Flickr members. Fun :)

P.P.S. Check out this amazing photo my friend just took on her recent vacation. I LOVE it.

Thanks for you emails and comments. For my photography I use different editing programs - Picasa, Photoshop Elements 6, and Picnik (basic). I am still learning my way around photoshop. I love your layers, I didn't know picnic offered that. Mattie (poketypatch at swapbot)

I love it! I really liked this photo on your flickr page...I think I was at work and didn't get a chance to comment on it. Thanks so much for the shout out! I can't believe how much attention that photo is getting! I have 2 more of the same jelly, but I liked that one the best. It always amazes me what photos get the most attention. I don't know if you saw this one or not, but it's my personal favorite from the trip. I like how the sand looks all glittery. http://flickr.com/photos/mitzibiney/3219572072/ Thanks again, I appreciate your support!
